Winter GrassColumbia RiverFull Circle Fitness and Wellness isnt just about “Fitness and Wellness” as we know it (eating/exercise) but rather all aspects of it including preventative maintenance such as massage, visual, aroma and sound therapy etc. Wellness isnt a “diet” or “routine” but rather a lifestyle in which we should emurse ourselves in every aspect of life and the process of becoming the change we want to see in the world.

My surroundings, what I read, listen to, what I let my eyes see and absorb, who I associate with etc. all have integral parts to play in who I am becoming but most important of all to me is my spirituality or faith, for without that, not only am I nothing but I can not truly Love unless I follow HIS example of perfect Love.

I seek to capture the siplicity and Love of God and His creations through my photography an hope it becomes visual therapy for all….

So here we are. You wanted to be in shape and want to be in shape. You know how much you should weigh, want to weigh, what pant size you should be so why are not you living your life in the body you want?

There are many reasons that make weight loss tough; reasons that go beyond the calories in and calories out. There are a million “shakes” out there promising you the WORLD (I personally only recommend the one with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors or preservatives and the highest “nutrition per calorie” ) but realistically there needs to be a total lifestyle change, accountability and COMMUNITY to help each other stay on track.

Let’s talk about how Obstaclés (Greek character that puts obstacles in our path 🙂 get in the way of your success.

The five barriers and solutions below can help you achieve the best body ever.

1. You do not want to be disturbed.

We’re designed to avoid pain and want pleasure. Unfortunately, it turns against you when you try to get in shape. It is mental anguish to resist the delicacies and fine foods of life.
There is a simple way around this obstacle: Finding something painful, mentally or physically, about being overweight, to help motivate you to work towards a healthier diet, exercise and lifestyle. Focus on how your current weight has a negative impact your health, self-esteem and lifestyle. Remind yourself that the pain of being overweight or out of shape is nothing compared to looking, feeling and SEEING a healthy YOU!

2. You do not appreciate delayed gratification.

Just like wanting to avoid pain, you also want pleasure in eating. If this remains a pattern or habit you’ll add up pounds and inches.
GREAT news!: Extra calories are not your only option for making the “I want it now” section of your brain happy. Find a couple activities that make you feel good and participate in them regularly.

-Go out for a movie or the theater
-Day or weekend at a Spa
-Bike Riding

You can also train your brain to desire the “feeling of accomplishment” from exercise.

3. You’re super busy.

Be honest with yourself, you work too much, over commit yourself to too much & don’t allow yourself enough sleep. Your living in the fast lane leaves you stressed out, tired and hungry for comfort food. You can even start to feel too busy to take care of your health.
STOP! Time out. Free your perfectionist standards and eliminate some of the commitments of your program. If you are able, cook healthy meals, exercise and make a point to get a good night of sleep. Remember to take care of your health is not a luxury, it’s your LIFE.

4. “I don’t deserve it.”

I disagree with it, but you act like you do not deserve to live the good life in the body you want. Take a moment to think back to those times when you sabotage your efforts to lose weight. If you do not believe you are deserving, you will never give you a chance on an “in shape” body.

You deserve to have a healthy body and try to dig deep to reveal why you don’t think so. When you overcome the feeling of uselessness, a good diet and exercise program will come with ease.
Take time to take care of your body. It’s your only one!

5. Afraid of failure?

You only fail if you fail to start. Once you take that first step, you’re on your way to a change. It may feel “strange” because much of the time, change, even if a GOOD change, feels different. I urge you to stick with it.

When you decide to condition you must go through several changes:

Different eating habits
Consistent exercise program
Know where you want to go!
Setting Goals
Change in self image

Think of the ways that weight loss/Lifestyle change will make you feel better about your self and life. VISUALIZE the new “future you” every day and work towards it and make the new change “the norm”.

Again, my passion is to help people make any positive changes and help overcome any doubt, fears or negative feelings about themselves!

His mercies are NEW everyday! Start your day on your way to wellness!

Yawwwwwnnnnn!!!! Good morning… STOP! Before you even get out of bed, do some simple stretching exercises SLOWLY and HOLD any stretch! This helps get the blood and mind going before you even have time to complain abut the day! If you have any back problems I recommend checking with your doctor first but I have 5 herniated disks after TWO surgeries and these actually help a great deal.

1: Be THANKFUL YOU WOKE UP and all the blessings you have! Think about everything you DO have and GOOD things in your life and start meditating on them! 🙂

2: Lay on your back, (hopefully this makes sense) tighten up your belly muscles and push your tailbone down against the mattress and hold for 3-5 seconds. Repeat this process 10-15 times to start increase as the days go on or as desired.

3: Still on your back, have your legs bent and knees up. Start slowly letting them fall to the mattress (to the Left) while keeping your hips flat. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat this for the right side as well. Do this for 8-10 times for each side.

4: Still on your back, grab each knee with each hand and bring them SLOWLY to your chest. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds. Repeat this 10 times as well, slow to the stretch and holding each stretch for 10 seconds.

5: Same concept stretch but this time put hands behind your knees at the base of your hamstring and pull knees ( from the back of the knee) to your chest but this time, “straighten” out your leg SLIGHTLY and SLOWLY until you feel a SLIGHT pull on your hamstring. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat 8-10 times.

6: This will take forever and sound CRAZY if I tried to explain the four exercises I do for wrist stretching so even flexing and holding (forward and backward) for 10 seconds 3-4 times. Do this to get ready for…..

7: PUSH UP! Yes you CAN! do them! 🙂 Start our with your hands one hand past shoulder width apart, keep back straight and head looking up to keep spine straight as well. 10? 15? 30? 50? Do as many as you can, again SLOWLY.

8: Crunches. There are many kinds but what “I” like to do is: On your back, pick a spot on the ceiling straight above you and focus on that spot. Put your hands on your thighs (palms down on thigh) about 3-4″ down from your knees. Keep looking up, tighten belly, and bring yourself up while sliding your hands up your thighs to your knees, then back down on your back with hand in beginning position. Do this 10-20 times.

9: KEEP thinking of the POSITIVE things in your life and those whom you love!

10: Start you day!

QUICK COFFEE TIP! Do you use half and half? I used a TON! About 600-800 calories a DAY of it as much coffee as I drank. Exactly, you probably never though how many calories it adds but it’s crazy. Use milk and if you NEED to ( I do 🙁 ) Use just a LITTLE half and half WITH the milk.

Sugar? STOP using artificial sweeteners! (Another future post) But if you use sugar, start using honey! 🙂 Just try it and allow your self get used to it.

EXTRA CREDIT!! BEFORE you get your car out of the garage, take a quick walk around the block. If you live in the country, take a “walk around a city block” length walk. Yes! It’s that simple. 🙂

I would LOVE to hear from a few people who decide to take on the challenge of a new routine and discipline. Try this for even a WEEK and let me know your feedback!

Even a LITTLE less sugar, a LITTLE more exercise and a LITTLE more positive thinking can have a HUGE difference in your life!!

What is it? Does it still exist?  I was brought up in a generation where we were taught five simple steps to a successful life:

• Go to school & get good grades
• Go to college
• Get a good job with benefits
• Work hard and get recognized & rewarded for it
• Retire at 55

Does this still work? Does anyone know anyone who went to college but doesn’t have a career in their field? Does anyone know anyone who does have a “good job” in their career but their company owns them? Does anyone know ANY one who can actually retire at 55? 60? 65?

Do you see the trend?

There is a huge shift happening in the economy that has tens of thousands of people turning their 401 K (or sometimes Special K’s) to start their own businesses; to become entrepreneurs, or buy into a franchise (PLEASE check the FEES and actual PROFITS of this option) which is GREAT; unless they haven’t done research and are unwilling to learn what they don’t know.

Now, I am all for being an entrepreneur and am one myself, however, statistics show an alarmingly high rate of businesses fail within the first 5 years and few actually generate a profit if they make it. So what is one to do?

PLAN!  Make sure this is not a “spontaneous” decision. (Not that that won’t work) but it is much safer if it is something that is a passion of yours as you will truly enjoy it if it is and also if it is something you have been planning or dreaming about for a long time.

Also make sure you have a good business plan, marketing strategy and check how many other like businesses may be in the area; but the number one thing that will give you an edge over the others is INFORMATION. The companies that learn at a faster rate than the others, will be the ones to grow (both personally and business) faster.

LEADERSHIPLLR Sub: Is one of the most if not THE most important area to learn and grow in. True leadership will teach principles of integrity, character and horror as well as people skills, conflict resolution and over all leadership as opposed to “management”.

We are now in the “Information Age” and leadership information is honestly the difference between where you are and where you want to be, again, both personally and in business.

Now imagine you are able to combine leadership development as an entrepreneur with a systematic (Franchise) growth plan and continued education platform? That, interestingly enough, is exactly what LIFE Leadership has done. I encourage you all to chase your DREAMS, but also encourage you all to plan them, and if possible, learn from someone who actually has the results you want or a COMMUNITY of them!

If so, it can stop your journey to wellness dead in its tracks. “What exactly IS aspartame?” you ask? Funny you should ask….

You consume it regularly, everyone around you does as well; interestingly enough you have all heard it is bad for you yet you still don’t think twice about buying that diet soda, pack of gum or breath mints.

O.k ., so now you’re wondering since you came across this article will you actually find out what Aspartame is and WHY it is bad for you (Do research on sucralose too). The answer is yes! I will shed a little light on this but encourage you all as always to do your own research on this, being aware of agendas and sites promoting it as they may very well be connected to a product containing it or cashing in on the sickness it can be lined too.

I am going to keep this short, again to encourage you to do your own research.

Aspartame was discovered “accidentally” in 1965 while James Schlatter and others were working on an ulcer medication. As he was recrystallizing the chemical he licked his fingers to pick up a piece of paper and noticed how sweet the taste was.

Many years later it was slowly introduced into our foods.

There are three main chemicals in Aspartame:
Aspartic acid:

The FDA, although approving and promoting Aspartame, has reported several side effects of aspartic acid such as migraines, nausea, insomnia and vision problems.

Aspartate basically acts as a neurotransmitter aiding in transmission of information from neuron to neuron ; however too much can lead to the above side effects and even killing the neurons.


Phenylalanine is actually an amino acid but over consuming it can raise the natural levels in the blood and in turn lead to decreased levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, which can cause mood swings, depression and even seizures.


Methanol, yes, wood alcohol, is the other main chemical that makes up aspartame. Methanol literally turns into, are you ready for this? FORMALDEHYDE in the body! (Is anyone thirsty for diet cola now?). As one could expect, this isn’t really good for us and also has been known to cause vertigo and migraines as well.

So, as you can see, like so many other “great products” out there, the list of side effects is CRAZY and does more harm than good.

Hope this encourages you all to do some more research on what you are feeding your bodies and your families…

You Can’t Take Your Same Old Self Into A Bright New Future!

Even the DOGGIEEEEEEEEE knows what she sees “behind her” in the mirror is just that, behind her…

The failures of 2013 are SMALLER THAN THEY APPEAR! and…. In the past. If we CHOSE we can USE the failures to LEARN FROM and BUILD UPON much like Michael Jordan used HIS failures (getting kicked off of the team, missing game winning shots etc.) To SUCCEED.

This next year you have ANOTHER CHANCE! Every DAY you have ANOTHER CHANCE!! Spend LESS time looking in the rear view mirror and where you have been, and MORE time looking FORWARD at the road AHEAD of you and where you are going. As GREAT as Michael Jordan was, he always LEARNED from people around him and still had a COACH…. imagine if ALL of us were willing to LEARN from people around us and were willing to take council/mentor from a coach? What could we accomplish? What do YOU WANT to accomplish? Will what you are doing now ALLOW YOU TOO? . If not…you need different information, different association to truly get the RESULTS you want…..and we are. And WE WILL!! Its what we do!

Battling Seasonal Disorder and Depression

Christmas is right around the corner!  Beautiful lights, the spirit of giving and baking etc.

As enjoyable as it may be, many struggle with depression this time of year or “Seasonal Disorder”. I urge you all too keep that in mind with everything we say, do or think. There are many hurting people out there that may say things, react or do things they actually do NOT want to do. It is so easy to quickly react to ones reaction (Guilty but getting much better 😉 or “judge” them for being angry, bitter or simply not laughing at your jokes.

Please take the time to try and make someone smile, say “hello, how are you” and “have an awesome day” with sincerity. Let them see the Light or positive in you. Simply acknowledging someone and smiling can truly make their day. Sometimes people need to know we DO notice and care about them and that they are loved and have a purpose.

Sometimes people just need someone to listen to them, not simply “letting them talk” but actually listen to them. Show them you are actually interested in what they have to say. If the conversation get too negative or out of hand, try putting a positive spin on it, letting them know what you’re thankful for etc. but again, simply listening to them can be all the encouragement they need to keep their head up through this season!

Please make a point these next few months to reach out, say extra prayers, send extra positive energy to be the difference maker in even ONE persons attitude, day or life.

For those of you who are going through this tough time yourselves, you may ask “How can I maintain a sense of balance and mental wellness?” Now, I am not a doctor and do not “guarantee” any results as this is simply things I have applied to my life so I would like to make a few recommendations that helped me immensely:

1) Eat as little sugar as possible. Avoiding artificial sweeteners like Aspartame and Sucralose are also important as they are liked to several medical conditions mentally, physically and neurologically.

2) Be aware of wanting to eat when you are not hungry. This is a classic symptom of depression that can be an endless circle of questioning whether we are over eating because we are depressed or depressed because we are over eating. Try to catch yourself and hold yourself accountable. If you don’t think your will power is strong enough, ask a few friends to help you out as a “TEAM”. Many are taking weight loss “challenges” which is also a great idea. I work with several people in the nutrition/home based business industry and there are some great products out there and opportunities which help people get around others with like mindset.  One products I like for simple cost effective weight management is Total Life Changes.

3) Try to develop and continue an exercise routine. Even something simple like walking, jumprope can help a lot. Getting around other people doing the same thing like a health club is also great as it can give you that sense of “community” many of us long for.

4) Now that we are working on how and what we eat and exercise, it is time to try to eliminate a bad habit and replace it with a good habit. One habit I have developed the last year was the one thing i absolutely despised…lol READING! The first book I read was “Attitude Is Everything” which literally changed my whole outlook on LIFE (Check out the short “videos” links and success talks on this page!! :).

Regardless what we are going through or what we have been through we have to remember it is not so much “what happens” to us in life, it’s what we DO with what happens to us! 🙂 Circumstances are not always within out control but out ATTITUDE is. Try to keep your head up! Remain POSITIVE and go out and make a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE in someones live. They just might have it worse than us….

If none of the above helps, I will make one last suggestion: Read the below story and it’s truth. Regardless what the “demon” may be (addiction, anger, lust, depression, alcoholism, unforgiveness etc) Jesus can heal it. Whether or not you let Him is 100% up to you. If you’re where I was and “had tried everything”, I urge you to filter everyone else’s opinions out and ask yourself honestly. “Am I willing to try the One thing I haven’t yet?”

What is your value to Social Media? To your FAMILY?








SOCIAL MEDIA:  How much are you worth to THEM?  It is actually quite simple.   According to an article I recently read on Forbes, they figure your value to them based on the stock prices, number of users and also by the size communities you build (which includes investing or spending time on the site and away from priorities) and your influence on your communities.  For example:

1) Twitter users are worth $110 based on a $25.5 billion stock-market capitalization, trading price of about $46.5 and 232 million users.  Pretty simple eh?

2)  Facebook users are valued at $98 on average;  $117 billion, 1.19 billion users .

3)  LinkedIn?  $24 billion across a user base of 259 million = about $93

So, with that said, my question to you is:  “How much are you worth to your family?  How much are you worth to YOUR community?  How much time do you spend with THEM as opposed to Facebook; it’s drama, negativity or time wasting silly games?  A parent look into their childs eyes less than a minute a day and over 3 hours of TV and even more other media.  Now don’t take this wrong; am I against social media?  Absolutely not!  I love it!  I use all of them but not so much for “entertainment” or to “keep up with everyone’s stuff” but use it sparingly and to inspire etc.  I AM against it when people spend more time with it than their children, families or learning and GROWING themselves, but folks, time is a GIFT and what we do with it can build or destroy us.  Should we not be good stewards of it or our families?  We have ONE CHANCE to make a difference NOW and for the future.  We have one chance to influence our youth and one chance to leave a legacy.

Relational Stress Can Rob Us Balance Of Mind and Wellness:

Understanding the four temperaments is crucial for any and every relationship both personally AND in business.

There are so many avenues to take as I start typing this.  There are so many types of relationships:  Marriage, parenting, friends, co-workers, other family etc.  I hope to uncover a couple of known but NOT so known common denominators that are essential in ALL relationships as well as direct you all to some helpful information that has helped tens of thoousands of people

Maybe you are married and struggling to keep it together, rekindle the fire or simply “understand” your spouse.  Maybe you are having a really tough time with your relationship, or lack of a relationship, you’re your children.  Maybe you have jumped from relationship to relationship never having one work out always thinking it’s the “other person” all the time or maybe you have had a pattern or relationship issues with every boss or co-worker you have ever had, again, thinking it’s always the “other person”.

I will list the common denominators that impact all relationships and explain a little about how and why they do.

PERSONALITY:  As there are many different people, there are many different personality traits within each and every one of us.  You may have heard some of these terms but never understood exactly what they mean as some people, consultants or counselors will label them differently.  Some experts say there are 4 different personalities, some say 16, some say 32.  Some label them by words, colors or energies.  I have found in dealing with many people that there are many “disorders” that people are “medicated” for, that are often simply personality traits!!!  NOW how important is it to understand them?

Here are a few examples of personality labels:

  • Blue, Red, Yellow and White or Blue, Orange, Gold and Green (among others).
  • Right Brain Introvert, Right Brain Extrovert, Left Brain Introvert and Left Brain Extrovert. (This is commonly used in horse training as well)
  • D.I.S.C.  or Dominant, Inspiring, Supportive and Cautious
  • Choleric, Melancholy, Phlegmatic and Sanguine.

I will explain just a little on the different types to help you even through this post, understand people around you better.  It is not always “our fault” we are the way we are but it can be our fault if we STAY there. J)

The Choleric: (Dominant) is generally an extrovert and a very driven person who is said to be a “born leader”.  The Choleric is also known as dynamic, goal oriented, one to delegate, one who thrives on opposition and moves quickly into action.  Some of their short comings however are that they are strong willed, impatient, bossy, not complementary and quick tempered. ( Yes I AM working on all of theses 🙂 )

The Sanguine:  (Inspiring) is also commonly an extrovert who is also said to possess strong leadership skills as they usually have an appealing personality, very talkative, “LIFE of the party”, enthusiastic, emotional, always a “kid at heart” or (just a kid!), curious, spontaneous and a “live for today” attitude.  As FUN we sound “we” sound we also have some slight wrinkles to iron out such as our restless energy, sometimes talk TOO much and are TOO energetic to where we completely freak people out!, we can have a tendency to complain and be egotistical (Not me I’m one of the most humble people I know!! 🙂 ) and we never seem to “grow up”.

The Melancholic:  (Supportive) is going to be a thoughtful, analytical, sensitive and contentious.  They are one to set high standards, be very schedule/detail oriented, have the ability to see the problem and find a creative solution.  Some of their weaknesses are:  They tend to be moody or depressed, self-centered (wanting attention to them), remembers the negatives and has a tendency to have a low self-image.

The Phlegmatic:  (Cautious) is generally going to have a “low key” personality, easy going, calm cool and collected, patient and sympathetic.  They however tend to be unenthusiastic, low motivated, self-righteous, shy and worrisome.

To sum it up, let’s use a scenario of car keys.  A Melancholic personality may make SURE they put the car keys in the same place every single time, the Choleric may get mad if they can’t find them fast enough, a Phlegmatic may just not care while a Sanguine may lose them every time or possibly forget they even have a car.

Now you may have been able to identify some of these characteristics in either yourself, spouse or co-worker.  Here is where knowing this can be beneficial.

Once you understand “them” a little more, you may be able to have a better idea how to approach and communicate with them and realize it’s not so much about “what” we say, or even how we say it but rather what they heard.

ENTREPRENEURS: Is your road to success a little discouraging?


The road to success can get pretty discouraging as it seems it can be uphill both ways, if not, maybe the dream isn’t BIG enough In either case, I know and have worked with many business owners who have wanted to call it quits for this reason.

Sometimes a few words of encouragement, re-creating the hunger and finding, once again, that BELIEF is all it takes to stick it out one more day, one more missed shot and one more year. No one EVER fails if they never give up!

Another thing I challenge you all to think about is this: Have you ever noticed how much “stuff” people bring on their flights with them? Bags, small suitcases with wheels (To make it easier to bring “extra baggage” with them). What we bring with us is supposed to be for the FLIGHT! Why the extra baggage?

Many times we let the “extra baggage” from our personal lives stop us from reaching our business goals. Leave it behind! Don’t bring it with you! Look FORWARD to the destination of your trip!

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
